Get involved

We need people more than anything.

This kind of work runs on people who show up. If you can give a few hours a month, we'd like to hear from you.

Different skills. Same purpose. A stronger Fresno.

Where a few hours go furthest

Small acts create lasting impact

  • Tutoring

Helping a student catch up, one afternoon a week.

  • Translating

Sitting in on a conversation so nothing gets lost.

  • Driving

Getting someone to an appointment and back.

  • Sorting donations

Keeping supplies ready for the families who need them.

  • Sitting with someone

Being there while a form gets filled in.

Some people come for a reason of their own

Different paths. Same place.

  • School and college hours

We sign the paperwork. Tell us what your school asks for and how many hours you need, and we'll build the shifts around it.

  • Court-ordered service

We take court referrals and we certify the hours. Nobody here will ask you to explain why you were sent.

  • A team for a morning

A business, a gurdwara, a student club. Six people or twenty — sorting, setting up, a one-off push where the numbers help most.

Want to get involved?

Send us a message saying what you would like to help with and when you are free. We will get back to you, meet for a short conversation, and start you alongside someone who has done it before.

Different skills. Same purpose. A stronger Fresno.

  • Volunteer

A few hours a month, doing something you already know how to do.

  • Share resources

Clothing, household basics, school supplies. Ask us first and we'll tell you what's short.

  • Spread the word

Tell a family, a neighbour or a group you belong to that Aasra is here.

Tell us you'd like to help

No commitment. The first step is a conversation.

Tell someone.

Most people find help because somebody they know told them where to look. If you know a family, a neighbour or anyone who could use support, please let them know about Aasra.
