About Aasra

A new foundation. An old habit.

Aasra helps families in Fresno reach the help that already exists — housing, work, school and health care — by sitting down with them and going through it together.

Aasra Foundation was incorporated in California in 2025 and begins its work in 2026. We're in Fresno, and we serve everyone here. Aasra is Punjabi for support; the work is for whoever needs it.

Why Aasra exists

A Fresno where nobody has to know somebody.

The programmes, the clinics and the services are already here; what we want to shorten is the distance between needing one and actually reaching it — short enough that any family can cross it, in their own language, without being sent somewhere else first.

Aasra helps with the part between needing support and actually receiving it.

  • Four things, properly.

    Shelter, work, school and health care. That stays the whole list until we can do more without doing it worse.

  • Everyone who comes.

    We're in Fresno and we serve everyone here. Nothing to bring, no conditions to meet. The programmes we walk you to have their own rules; sitting down with us has none.

  • Public about it.

    The registrations and the whole first-year plan are already on this site — what we have committed to, and what comes of it, set out in public from the first day.
